Have You Heard Of The NYS Yellow Dot Program?
The Yellow Dot Program is a project of the NYS Sheriff’s Association. It’s a program that helps emergency responders provide prompt care in the event of any auto accident or emergency.
The instructions are very simple and printed on each of the Yellow Dot Program forms. The word form makes it sound way more complicated than it actually is. There is no sign up or registration required.
- Simply pick up a free form at any one of our four locations.
- Fill out the card and place in your vehicle’s glove box.
- Place the yellow dot decal (provided with the form when you pick it up) on the rear corner of the driver’s side window to alert the emergency responders to look for the card in the glove box.
- Then just review and update the card annually to be sure your medical and health history or medications are current.
As a bonus you can use this same program for your home! Simply place the yellow dot decal on or beside your front door and place a completed card in the freezer for the occupants in your home or apartment.
This would be important for a person of any age, but especially the elderly.
